This grain sack is from somewhere between the late 18th- to the early 20th-century and is handmade from long linen bolts that were painstakingly handwoven. Originally used for storing and hauling grains, grains sacks are a long-time favorite textile for collecting due to their incredible texture. This one is warm and neutral with contrasting black stitching, updating it into a modern piece of art for any wall.
Each piece of fabric in the vintage collection is from a curated collection of textiles that I’ve been sourcing for decades. Embellishing only when needed, each piece highlights the intrinsic beauty of the textile’s origin, using its own seams, stitching, and natural texture to give it visual dimension. Each textile is then thoughtfully arranged into a modern statement piece that adds a touch of vintage to any space.
Each textile may contain slight imperfections in the fabric but they’ve been intentionally left to add character to the piece. Handcrafted into a statement piece, and ready for hanging.
24 x 24 in. // framed in natural wood frame.
